Acupuncture treatment

The practice of Traditional Oriental Medicine addresses all aspects of the human being: the physical, emotional and the spiritual. Each patient is evaluated with an in-depth interview and a careful examination of tongue and pulse to determine a diagnosis and treatment plan specific to the person.

Herbal Medicine:

Both Chinese and Western herbs are used by our acupuncturists as an integral part of their practices. Herbal formulas are custom blended to match the needs of the individual.

Feng Shui:

A system of proper placement which can be used for positioning your home, laying out your garden or placing your furniture. Feng Shui literally means "wind-water" in Chinese. It began being used in the fourth century B.C. when the Chinese invented the compass.

Geri Quintero GERI QUINTERO, L.Ac. holds a B.A. from the University of Vermont in Environmental Studies, and received her Master's Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches Institute in Santa Cruz, California. She practices mainly Master Tong style acupuncture, and studies extensively with Jeffery Yuen of New York. Geri has raised her teenage son using Chinese Medicine. She specializes in pediatric asthma and allergies. Geri feels that her mission is to guide people to becoming more self reliant in their own health care. "My practice is basically to empower my patients to carefully create an environment in their lives, their diet, their thoughts, their sleep and rest habits, their patterns of emotions, which will maintain optimal health. The modalities I incorporate in a typical treatment may include Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Medical Massage, Essential Oil Therapy, Flower Essences, Diet Counseling, Lifestyle Counseling, Feng Shui Consultations, and an important process of Setting our Medical Intentions. One of my main focuses is the alignment of one's spiritual/emotional awareness to their healing process."

Chi Nei Tsang/Abdominal Massage Chi Nei Tsang/Abdominal Massage

Chi Nei Tsang, (pronounced chee nay song, and means energy of the internal organs), facilitates healing from physical illness, emotional trauma, stress and toxicity through the art of applied chi kung or the movement of energy. Clients are trained to develop their own power to heal, by learning to focus the movement of the mind’s attention and the body’s breath during Chi Nei Tsang and Chi Kung practices. This is both a fundamental approach to self healing and a complementary approach to other forms of medical and therapeutic treatments.

Gentle touches are applied primarily on the abdomen, along the meridians throughout the body, while connecting the breath with feelings. In doing this, we encourage the release of blocked energy, knots, or tangles which can cause toxicity and disease. Chi Nei Tsang improves the elimination of toxins, increases the circulation of nutrients and fluids in the various tissues of the body and improves the functioning of the internal organs. It strengthens the immune system and our ability to heal from disease.

CNT and Chi Kung also address the emotional component of health. Unprocessed emotions such as anxiety, fear, frustration, anger, loss or sadness, and impatience can be trapped in our internal organs and interfere with their proper functioning. Releasing the toxicity from blocked charges of negative experiences provides the opportunity for cultivating the positive emotions of courage, trust, gentleness, kindness, and joy. These positive emotions enhance our sense of well being and support our process of change as we untangle from physical and emotional patterns that do not sustain our growth.

A regular practice of Chi Kung movement meditation establishes ones own connection to the flow of life’s energy or Chi. It increases ones energy and comfort while allowing for greater relaxation in the present and strengthening ones capacity to respond with purposefulness. By living more in the present, one is also living more in the heart and able to enjoy more of life.

Maureen Davison Practioner MAUREEN DAVISON, CNTP received her training at the Chi Nei Tsang Institute under Master Instructors, Gilles Marin and Tiffiny Fyans. Chi Nei Tsang is an ancient practice developed by Taoist Monks and brought to the U.S. by Mantak Chia, of the Healing Tao in Thailand. Maureen has earned Advanced Practitioner Certification, with over 1000 hours of training and 7 years of practice. This unique and gentle form of abdominal massage is based on the Five Elements as they relate to the internal organs. CNT facilitates healing from both the physical and emotional aspects of illness by providing a supportive touch for unwinding the tensions in the belly and releasing toxins stored in the internal organs, all of which can cause digestive disorders and upset the balance of our body, mind and spirit.
